Last year was my freshman year at NDSU, and I lived in the dorms. The biggest contrast about living in the dorms to being at Newman Living, which is my favorite thing, is that all my roommates and neighbors are people around my age who are striving daily to deepen their faith in the Lord. Just living here for only one semester has shown me that this is the best place for a young Catholic to live during their college years, because here I live with those I go to mass with, go on retreat, and do charitable activities with. By living in community with other college students who have Christ at the center of their heart, this has enabled both me and my friends to have those more meaningful conversations about our faith and the meaning of our lives. HE has given me a lot of grace through those conversions, which almost always seem to happen late at night when I should be sleeping. These graces from the Lord, given to me through my friends at Newman Living, have brought me to gain a few new daily devotionals that draw me closer to Christ. Such as praying to the Hearts of the Holy Family, praying to various saints and blesseds, and praying the Rosary daily. I have also been pushed as a man to serve the Church where I can more often, by both becoming an altar server and doing charitable work as a new member of the Newman Center’s Knights of Columbus chapter. This is the only place I know of in the Fargo-Moorhead area where there are so many young adults who are living for Jesus, and who live in the same building together. This is where you live if you want to prepare for Christ’s return as a college student, with the hope that you will be granted entry into HIS Kingdom.
