The Catholic View of the Person

What is this Course?

An introduction to the Catholic view of the person through an examination of the biblical, philosophical and theological foundations of such a view, inspired by the thought of St. John Paul II.

This course offers a historical and religious perspective on the origin, nature, and vocation of the human person and human life in the community.  The course will examine systematically the fundamental elements of Catholic anthropology. In presenting the material various expressions of beauty in nature or art will be used to illustrate the ideas. In addition, the view of the human person will address briefly various social issues such as marriage & family, law & politics, and economic life.

• The class will take place on Tuesday's from 6:30pm-9pm in the Newman Center classroom

• This is a 3-credit course. There is no direct cost. 
• The course will be offered through St. Gregory the Great Seminary (not in the NDSU course catalog)
• To register, please fill out a simple Google form. We will use this information to enroll you with St. Gregs. You will be responsible for transferring your credits to your NDSU transcript and working with your advisor to authorize it to count towards a humanities elective. (we will provide more information on this process later)
• You must be in your sophomore year or later and have been in college for one full year or more in order to enroll in this course.
