But is there anything else? Dr. Michael Foley argues that we should also be cultivating “eulogy virtues,” the kinds of things we would want people to say at our funeral. It is through both resume virtues and eulogy virtues that we become truly happy.
Michael P. Foley is a Catholic theologian, a professor of Patristics in the Great Texts Program at Baylor University, and the author of fourteen books and over 350 articles on topics ranging from classical theology to pop culture. His works include "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Christianity," "Gus Finds God" (a children’s book), "Drinking with the Saints," and, most recently, "Drinking with Your Patron Saints." Mike, his wife Alexandra, and their six children live in Waco, Texas.
